Hornick blends expertise as a coach and as an educator into all his facilitation. The elements of great, effective facilitation are multifaceted. They involve design, preparation, and the actual facilitation. The most important principle behind doing any of these masterfully is is listening well. This is the skill of great coaching. Through experience, study, practice, practice, practice, and some sense of humor, Hornick consistently co-creates good and (sometimes) remarkable events, live and online.

Hornick was a Wall Street lawyer, then a secondary school teacher, then a non-profit director, and then, for the last 20 years, has worked as a coach and facilitator. He has a JD from the University of Chicago, an MA in science education from CCNY, Professional Coach Certification from the ICF, certification as a guide in The Collaborative Way (the best system of organizational collaboration, www.collaborativeway.com) and Certified xchange Guide designation. He is a generalist and works with a broad range of professional and non-profit organizations.

Along with his facilitation work, Hornick directs the Hornick School of Coaching where he leads a faculty of certified coaches to train coaches for professional careers in coaching and ICF certification. (www.hornickschoolofcoaching.com) He also hosts a private coaching practice.

He lives in Amherst, MA, and serves clients all over the place. In 2022, he received a Certificate of Awesomesauce for successfully completing the Joy & Ease of Improv curriculum within the Happier Valley Comedy Training Program, where he regularly serves as musical director.

He believes deeply in the inherent power and beauty of every person.
